As first-time visitors, we’re filled with a mix of excitement, curiosity, and wonder. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene temples of Kyoto, Japan promises an unforgettable experience. Pre-Trip Vibes

The countdown has begun! We’ve been eagerly preparing for over a year, poring over guidebooks, watching travel vlogs, and practicing basic Japanese phrases. Our hearts are racing. We’re eagerly anticipating vibrant summer festivals, lively fireworks displays, and the mesmerizing Gion Matsuri procession.

The Highlights We Can’t Wait For

1. Shinkansen – Bullet Train

Our inner train enthusiasts are thrilled about riding the iconic Shinkansen (bullet train). Zooming through the picturesque landscapes at speeds of up to 200 mph – what an exhilarating way to travel! We’ll be zipping from Tokyo to Kyoto, marvelling at Mount Fuji along the way.

2. Culture and Traditions

Japan’s rich cultural heritage awaits us. From tea ceremonies to kimono-clad geishas, we’re ready to immerse ourselves in centuries-old traditions. The ancient temples, zen gardens, and historic shrines will transport us to another time.

3. Culinary Delights

Foodies, rejoice! Sushi, ramen, tempura, and matcha—our taste buds are in for a treat. We’ve bookmarked local eateries and street food stalls to sample authentic Japanese cuisine. And yes, we’ll definitely try the elusive fugu (pufferfish) if we’re feeling adventurous!

4. Historical Landmarks

Japan’s history is etched in its architecture. The majestic Himeji Castle, the solemn Hiroshima Peace Memorial, and the mystical Fushimi Inari Shrine—all beckon us. Each stone whispers stories of samurais, emperors, and resilience.

Our kids’ eyes sparkle at the thought of exploring Pokémon Centers and Hello Kitty stores. Pikachu plushies, Eevee merchandise, and kawaii accessories—these iconic characters are part of our Japan adventure!

A pilgrimage to the Studio Ghibli Museum in Mitaka is a must. Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Howl’s Moving Castle come alive in this whimsical museum. We’ll step into Hayao Miyazaki’s enchanting world.
