If you’re visiting Bangkok with kids and looking for a fun‑filled day out, Dream World Bangkok is a must‑visit. This colourful theme park is located just outside the city in Pathum Thani. It is packed with rides and attractions. There’s even a Snow Town where you can play in real snow – a novelty in tropical Thailand.

When we visited, I was surprised at how quiet it was for an international attraction. There weren’t many foreign tourists at all – instead, the park had a few Thai school groups in the morning. By late afternoon, after the school trips left, it felt almost like we had the park to ourselves.

My kids (aged 9 and 12) absolutely loved it — they gave it a 10/10. I’d rate it an 8/10 myself. It’s not as polished as some of the world’s mega‑parks. Still, it’s charming, affordable, and perfect for a relaxed family day.

🚗 How to Get to Dream World Bangkok

Dream World is about 20 km north of central Bangkok in Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. Travel time is usually 45–60 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

By Taxi / Grab / Bolt

The easiest way for families – door‑to‑door convenience.
Expect to pay around ฿400–฿600 each way from central Bangkok.
Drivers will usually ask if you want to take the expressway (highway). If you say yes, you’ll need to pay the tolls in cash. From my hotel, we passed three toll booths costing a total of ฿190.

Pro Tip: If you want to save money, tell the driver no highway. The journey time isn’t much longer, and you’ll avoid the extra toll cost.

By Public Bus

From Victory Monument BTS Station, walk to the “Ko Din Dang” area and take Bus No. 538 (Victory Monument – Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi).
Get off at North Bangkok University. Cross the overpass. Follow signs to the free Dream World shuttle bus. It runs every 10 minutes.
Journey time: around 90 minutes to 2 hours.

By Car

Take the Bangkok–Pathum Thani Expressway, exit at Rangsit–Ongkharak Road, then follow signs to Dream World.

Lines for rides were short during our visit, especially after 2pm when the school groups started leaving. By 4pm, we walked straight onto most attractions.

🍔 Food & Facilities

At Dream World Bangkok, one pleasant surprise is that food prices are very reasonable. They are affordable compared to many theme parks around the world. There’s a food court with plenty of Thai dishes. Prices start from around ฿70. This is comparable to prices outside the park.

You’ll also find familiar fast‑food options like KFC, perfect if the kids want something quick and familiar. This is a refreshing change from many European theme parks, where food inside can be significantly more expensive than outside. Here, you can enjoy a meal without feeling like you’re paying a “theme park tax.”

There are shaded seating areas, clean restrooms, and plenty of drink stalls to keep you hydrated in the Bangkok heat.

📅 Best Time to Visit

Weekdays are quieter than weekends.
Avoid Thai public holidays if you want minimal crowds.
November to February offers cooler, more comfortable weather.

🏆 Final Verdict

Dream World Bangkok does not have the scale of Disneyland. It’s fun, family‑friendly, and stress‑free. This is especially true if you visit on a quiet weekday. The mix of rides, shows, and themed zones kept my kids entertained all day. The lack of long queues was a huge bonus.
