If you’ve ever wanted to try a glass‑floor skywalk, there is a fantastic choice. The King Power Mahanakhon in Bangkok is a little too daunting. The Skywalk at Wat Khao Tabaek is a fantastic choice. It offers stunning views without the same dizzying height. This makes it a great choice for families with children. It’s also ideal for those who prefer something less intense.
🌄 What to Expect
The Skywalk is perched high on a hill within the temple grounds, giving you sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. The glass floor section is just enough to give you a little thrill without making your knees wobble.
Entry to the Skywalk costs ฿40 per person, cash only. This gives you access to the viewing platform and the glass walkway.

🚗 Getting There
Wat Khao Tabaek is located in Chonburi Province, about a 90‑minute drive from Bangkok. If you’re staying in Laem Chabang (like we did) or Sriracha, it’s even easier — you can simply book a Bolt or Grab for a quick and affordable ride.
Once you arrive at the temple grounds, you’ll need to walk uphill to reach the Skywalk. The path is steep in parts, and there’s a staircase to walk down afterwards. This means it not be suitable for visitors with limited mobility or for pushchairs/buggies. It’s worth bringing a bottle of water for the climb, especially on hot days.
👗 Dress Code
The Skywalk is located within the temple grounds, but you are not entering the temple itself to access it. This means you can wear shorts for the Skywalk visit. If you plan to go inside the temple afterwards, it’s respectful to dress appropriately. You should cover your shoulders and knees. This is in line with typical Thai temple etiquette. We didn’t realise this before visiting. We arrived in long trousers. The long trousers made the uphill walk a little warmer than necessary.
📸 Photos and Souvenirs
Friendly staff will help you at the Skywalk. They can take professional photos of you and your family on the glass floor. These are printed and framed, and you can buy them at the exit for ฿150. The frame is included in the price, making it a nice keepsake of your visit.
❤️ Why We Loved It
For our family, the Skywalk at Wat Khao Tabaek was a perfect mix of adventure and accessibility. The children enjoyed the views and the novelty of standing on glass, but it wasn’t overwhelming or too high. It effectively introduces kids to this type of attraction. They can experience this before moving on to something taller like the King Power Mahanakhon.
💡 Final Tips
- Wear comfortable shoes for the uphill walk.
- Bring water, especially on hot days.
- Have cash ready for the ฿40 entry fee and ฿150 photo package.
- Visit in the morning or late afternoon for cooler weather and softer light for photos.
Skywalk Wat Khao Tabaek is a hidden gem in Chonburi. It is a brilliant family‑friendly day trip from Bangkok, Pattaya, Laem Chabang, or Sriracha. It’s affordable, scenic, and just adventurous enough to make lasting memories.
