Flight Search
Traveling with kids presents unique challenges, especially when it comes to flexibility. School holidays often dictate your travel window, and unfortunately, these peak seasons tend to be the most expensive. Fear not! I’ve got you covered with flight search engines that make family travel more manageable.
• Google Flight
• Skyscanner
Both platforms give customised date and destination search options, along with price tracking. A notable distinction lies in their sourcing approach: Google Flights primarily aggregates results directly from airlines, while Skyscanner casts a wider net by including airlines, agencies, and booking sites. Your choice depends on personal preference. Our preference is to book directly with airlines, as we find their customer service superior to that of agencies or booking sites.
Remember, affordable flights are essential for a successful trip. Google Flights and Skyscanner are your trusty companions in this journey. Bon voyage
Airlines
British Airways
British Airways, operating from both London Heathrow Terminal 3 and Terminal 5, is our preferred airline. Families help from a dedicated check-in area in Terminal 5, along with complimentary Skyflyers activities.
Virgin Atlantic
Virgin Atlantic is a renowned British airline known for its innovative approach and exceptional service. Operating from major hubs like London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and Manchester, Virgin Atlantic connects travellers to over 30 destinations worldwide.
Edelweiss Airlines
You are not familiar with them, but they’re a sister company of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) and part of the Lufthansa Group. I had the chance to fly with them once on my way to the Caribbean. They offer a dedicated section for family travellers, conveniently located near the exit for easier boarding and seating. For kids, they give a puzzle book with colouring pencils in a gym bag. According to their website, they even give a plush toy to babies.
Qatar Airways
Families should choose Qatar Airways for their excellent service and the added help of free stopovers in Doha. With a complimentary night in a 5-star hotel, over 24 hours to explore Qatar, and the chance to break up long journeys, it’s a win-win!
Hotel
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG)
During my domestic travels in the UK, I relied heavily on this hotel chain. Now, even when I explore international destinations, I continue to choose them. Plus, if you’re traveling with family, Holiday Inn’s brand provides the added perks of Kids Eat Free and Kids Stay Free.
Marriott International
Marriott International, another trusted hotel chain, has significantly expanded its brand portfolio over the years. This growth makes it an excellent choice for exploring various destinations.

Experience & Tours
Klook
While researching for my Japan trip, I discovered Klook. Impressed by their offerings, I plan to book some day tours with them. Their strong product line up in Asia makes them a reliable choice.
GetYourGuide
GetYourGuide is another platform that offers a wide variety of experiences and tours. Notably, they have a more extensive choice in Europe compared to Asia.
Tiqets
Tiqets is an online booking platform that connects travelers with museums and attractions worldwide. They partner with thousands of venues globally, providing easy booking, flexible cancellation options, and skip-the-line entry.
