Navigating Between Humberto Delgado Airport and the City Centre

For our ease, we opted for taxi rides to and from Humberto Delgado Airport, where fares range from €15 to €20, with an additional fee for luggage. Make sure to choose a licensed taxi with a functioning meter to avoid potential scams; otherwise, you might end up paying €20 or even €50, as we experienced.

Metro Adventure Hop onto Lisbon’s Red Line (Linha Vermelha) directly from the airport. You can reach stations like Oriente or Baixa-Chiado, which are close to popular spots in the city. The metro ride takes about 45 minutes (with at least one change).

Bus Routes Carris buses connect the airport to Martim Moniz. Tickets cost around €3, and the journey takes about 20 – 25 minutes.

Navigating Lisbon with Kids:

During our trip, we opted for the 72-hour Lisboa Card, which provided us with unlimited public transport, complimentary museum access, and discounts on sightseeing and activities. It was a convenient and cost-effective choice for exploring the city!

Lisbon: A Family Adventure to Remember

As the sun sets over the Tagus River, we reflect on our Lisbon escapade – a tapestry of memories woven with laughter, discovery, and shared moments. Our family journey through cobbled streets, past pastel-coloured facades, and into the heart of Fado music will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

So here’s to Lisbon – the city of seven hills, custard tarts, and soul-stirring sunsets. As we bid farewell, we leave with a promise: to return, to explore anew, and to create more chapters in our family travelogue.
