- Dotonbori: Stroll along this vibrant district, spot the iconic Glico Man, and take a Tombori River Cruise.

Day 2: Osaka and Nara
- Nara Deer Park: Interact with friendly deer.
- Todai-ji Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall): Marvel at the colossal bronze Buddha.
- Higashimuki Shopping Street and Mochiidono Shopping Arcade: Explore local markets.
- Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan: Dive into the underwater world.
- Tempozan Ferris Wheel: Enjoy panoramic views.
Day 3: Osaka and Himeji
- Hello Kitty Train: Quirky transportation!
- Himeji Castle: A UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Kokoen Garden: Tranquil beauty.
- Back to Dotonbori for more exploration or shopping.
Day 4: Universal Studios Japan (USJ)
- Get ready for thrilling rides and magical experiences.
Day 5: Osaka to Kyoto
- Kyoto Station Building: Architectural marvel.
- GOTO-CHI Kyoto: Souvenir shopping.
- Nijō Castle: Explore the historic castle.
- Ninomaru Palace and Honmaru Palace: Step back in time.
- Nijō Castle Garden: Serene escape.
- Nishiki Market: Foodie paradise.
Day 6: Kyoto’s Cultural Gems
- Fushimi Inari Shrine: Walk through thousands of torii gates.
- Shinbashi-dori: Traditional street.
- Yasaka Shrine: Spiritual oasis.
- Gion Corner: Witness a geisha performance.
- Sip coffee at Starbucks Coffee – Kyoto Nineizaka Yasaka Chaya.
Day 7: Arashiyama and Golden Pavilion
- Arashiyama Bamboo Grove: Enchanting bamboo forest.
- Iwatayama Monkey Park: Meet the monkeys.
- Sagano Scenic Train: Picturesque ride.
- Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji): Reflect on its golden beauty.
Day 8: Kyoto to Tokyo
- Hop on a shinkansen (bullet train) to Tokyo.
- Sensoji Temple: Oldest temple in Tokyo.
- Nakamise-dori Street: Souvenirs galore.
- Explore Asakusa and enjoy dinner at Kura Sushi Global Flagship Store.
We are staying in Asakusa area, hence planned to explore the areas rather than going to other neighbourhood.
Day 9: Mt. Fuji Tour
- Witness the iconic peak.
Day 10: Tokyo Pop Culture Extravaganza
- Sanrio Purland: Immerse yourself in the world of Hello Kitty and friends.
- Ghibli Museum: Step into the enchanting universe of Studio Ghibli.
- Pikachu Sweets Café: Satisfy your sweet tooth with adorable Pokémon-themed treats.
- DAWN | Avatar Robot Café: Witness futuristic entertainment and robotic performances.
We didn’t manage to get the Ghibli Museum, so need to look for alternatives.
Day 11: Tokyo Disneyland Magic
- Spend the day at Tokyo Disneyland, where dreams come true!
Days 12 – 15: Exploring Tokyo’s Vibrant Neighbourhoods
Day 12: Shibuya and Harajuku
- Shibuya Sky Observation Deck: Enjoy breath-taking views of the city.
- Shibuya Crossing: Experience the iconic scramble.
- Explore Harajuku Street, visit Meiji Shrine, and shop at Kiddy Land.
Didn’t get the sunset slot for Shibuya Sky Observation Deck. Considering whether Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building South Observatory or Tokyo Skytree.
Day 13: Pokémon Adventures and Hidden Gems
- Pokémon Café: Dine in a Pokémon-themed café.
- Pokémon Center Tokyo DX: Catch ’em all!
- Imperial Palace: Stroll around the historic grounds.
- Tsukiji Fish Market: Sample fresh seafood.
- Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden: Find tranquility amidst the bustling city.
- Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building South Observatory: Admire the skyline.
- Explore the quirky bars of Shinjuku Golden Gai and spot the Godzilla Head.
- Shop at Uniqlo Tokyo Ginza and MUJI Ginza Flagship Store.
We didn’t manage to secure the reservation to Pokémon Café. Any alternative apart from Pikachu Sweets Café?
Day 14: Nature and Art
- Ueno Zoo: Meet fascinating animals.
- Explore Ueno Park and visit Ueno Toshogu.
- Immerse yourself in the digital art wonderland of teamLab Borderless.
Day 15: Sky High and Underwater
- Tokyo Skytree: Ascend to new heights.
- Sumida Aquarium: Discover marine life.
- Pokémon Center Sky Tree Town: More Pokémon goodies await!
- Visit Oshiage Tenso Shrine and relax at Sumida Park.
Spending half a day explore Asakusa/Sumida area as we will be staying overnight at Narita airport for early flight the next morning
Remember, our itinerary is just a starting point. Japan surprises at every turn, and we’re open to suggestions from fellow travellers. Whether it’s a hidden Hello Kitty café or a Pokémon-themed park, we’re excited to explore with our kids and create lasting memories.
