Arriving at Tokyo Disneyland
Our Japan adventure continued with a day dedicated to the enchanting Tokyo Disneyland. Unlike Tokyo DisneySea, which is known for its thrilling rides, Tokyo Disneyland offers a more magical Disney experience. The park opened at 8 AM, but we arrived just after 8:30 AM. Thankfully, the queue wasn’t too bad, and we were inside the park in less than 10 minutes.
40th Anniversary Priority Pass
We were fortunate to visit during Tokyo Disneyland’s 40th Anniversary, which featured a special Priority Pass. To make the most of this, we downloaded the official Tokyo Disneyland Resort app and loaded our tickets into our profiles. If you buy your tickets through the app, you can easily log in and start requesting the Priority Pass for available rides once inside the park. On our visit, the pass was initially available for four rides but was later reduced to three. You can ask for a new pass every two hours after your last ask. We managed to secure four passes throughout the day, with one being a repeat.
Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast
Our first stop was the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, one of the main attractions. The queue took about an hour, but it was well worth the wait. The ride truly captures the magic of the beloved Disney classic.
Exploring Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Toontown
We spent a significant part of our morning exploring Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Toontown. Compared to Universal Studios Japan (USJ), we found that Tokyo Disneyland has more rides and activities, with shorter queues. At USJ, most main attractions have wait times of over an hour, with some even reaching two hours. In contrast, Tokyo Disneyland’s queues are mostly an hour or less.
Lunch at Tomorrowland Terrace
For lunch, we decided to dine at Tomorrowland Terrace, which offers a variety of kid-friendly options like hamburgers and chicken nuggets. It’s a great spot to refuel before continuing our adventure.
More Attractions and Activities
Throughout the day, we managed to experience a plethora of attractions, including Club Mouse Beat, The Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents “Aloha E Komo Mai!”, “it’s a small world”, Snow White’s Adventures, Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall, Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, Mickey’s House and Meet Mickey, Minnie’s House, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Stitch Encounter, Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, The Happy Ride with Baymax, and Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek!. Each attraction offered its own unique charm and magic, making our day truly unforgettable.
Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights
One of the highlights of our visit was the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights. This spectacular parade is not to be missed. It travels across the park, so we made sure to find a good spot to sit at least 15 minutes before it started. Depending on where you are in the park, you still have time for another ride or some last-minute shopping after the parade. The parade lasts about half an hour and is a dazzling show of lights and Disney magic.
Evening and Dinner at Ikspiari
As the park closed at 9 PM, we spent some time shopping outside the park and then had dinner at TONKATSU WAKO inside the Ikspiari shopping centre. It was the perfect way to end our magical day before heading back to our hotel.
Conclusion
Our day at Tokyo Disneyland was filled with magic, fun, and unforgettable memories. Whether you’re a fan of Disney classics or looking for family-friendly activities, Tokyo Disneyland is a must-visit destination on any Japan adventure.
