We stayed three nights at Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam as part of our August 2026 Thailand trip. It sits right in the Siam area of Bangkok, close to shopping malls and right next to National Stadium station on the Silom line. Here is our honest take, including what worked and what didn’t for our family of four.

What To Expect

Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam feels a step up from the Holiday Inn Express hotels we have used in Europe. The rooms are bright and the finishes feel more polished than the budget branding suggests.

We booked a Queen Standard Family Room. This gave us a queen size bed plus a bunk bed built into the wall, with a little ladder up to the top bunk. Our kids loved climbing up to claim their spot.

The bathroom was clean and modern, with a marble style vanity and good water pressure.

One thing to flag. There is no dedicated space to open your luggage in the room. We ended up using the floor and the work desk. If you travel with big suitcases for four, this is worth knowing before you arrive.

How To Get There

The hotel sits right next to National Stadium station on the Silom line, the dark green BTS line. National Stadium is also the last stop on this line, so trains start and finish here. This makes it easy to reach most parts of Bangkok without needing a taxi every day.

There is a McDonald’s attached to the hotel, with a direct entrance from the lobby. Handy for a quick breakfast option or a treat after a long day of sightseeing. Several shopping malls are also within walking distance, so you are never far from air conditioning or a toilet stop with tired kids in tow. There is a pedestrian walkway from the hotel to Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, and from there we carried on through the connected malls and BTS walkway bridges all the way to centralwOrld, without needing to cross a single road.

Our Room

We stayed on the 23rd floor, which gave us a proper view over Bangkok. Watching the skyline change from daytime haze to lit up towers at night was one of our favourite parts of the stay.

The same view after dark. Worth requesting a high floor if you can.

The room itself worked well for our younger child, who was happy in the bunk bed. With a teen and a pre teen in the room too, the single bathroom became the bottleneck. Mornings and bedtimes took longer than we expected, with four of us trying to get ready in turn.

Facilities

The hotel has 24 floors. The top floor holds a fitness centre and a rooftop garden. It closes at 10pm, and by the time we got back from dinner most evenings we had missed the window. If a rooftop view at night matters to you, plan your evening around getting back before closing.

There is a small laundry room with two washing machines and two dryers. Each machine costs ฿100 to use, which was handy for topping up clean clothes partway through our trip.

Clear instructions in Thai and English above the machines.

Downstairs there are a few computers set up for guests to use. We didn’t need them ourselves, but we did see other kids parked in front of them playing games while their parents sorted out check in or waited for a taxi. There is also a tour desk in the lobby if you want help booking day trips or transport without doing it all yourself.

The room corridors have a striking blue lighting scheme, which our kids found quite fun to walk through on the way to the lift.

Food And Dining

Breakfast is included in most rates. There is enough variety across the stay that you won’t eat the same thing every morning. Expect a mix of Asian and Western options, with the standard toast, eggs and pastries alongside rice dishes and noodle soup.

Given the McDonald’s attached to the hotel and the malls nearby, you are never short of food options if breakfast doesn’t suit everyone in your group.

Tips For Families

We noticed a fair number of mosquitoes hanging around outside the lobby entrance. It wasn’t just an evening thing either. One morning we stood outside booking a taxi and waiting for it to arrive to take us to Siam Park, and the mosquitoes were just as bad then. Pack repellent and use it any time you are waiting outside, not just at night.

We booked four months ahead and paid around ฿5000 to ฿5500 a night. If you can time a sale, rooms can come in under ฿5000, so it is worth checking prices regularly before you commit.

This hotel suits families with younger children well, thanks to the bunk bed setup and the compact but functional layout. If your children are older, like our teen and pre teen, think about whether one bathroom will work for your morning routine, or whether you might prefer two connecting rooms instead.
